Our commitment to equality and combating discrimination in professional pilot training
In a sector as demanding, rigorous, and globalized as aviation, it is imperative that equal opportunities are a lived reality for all.
At Hexagone, we firmly believe that every individual, regardless of their origin, gender, physical condition, religion, or beliefs, has the right to access the same training and career opportunities. Combating discrimination is not merely a slogan: it is a concrete commitment, embedded at the core of our educational and professional mission.
Demanding training
yet accessible to everyone
Becoming an airline pilot is a dream shared by thousands of young people worldwide. However, this dream can still seem unattainable for certain demographics due to persistent stereotypes, direct or indirect discrimination, or a lack of representation. Our school actively works to break down these barriers and enable all aspirations to be realized.
We have implemented an admissions policy and pedagogical framework that ensure that only competence, motivation, and diligence are considered in student selection and progression. No discriminatory criteria have a place in our recruitment process: we welcome every applicant with respect, equity, and goodwill.
A strong commitment
to diversity and inclusion
The aviation sector is inherently international, multicultural, and diverse. It would therefore be inconceivable for professional pilot training not to reflect this reality. We actively encourage diversity in our cohorts, and we are pleased to see, year after year, an increase in the representation of female pilots, students from diverse backgrounds, and varied career paths.
We also collaborate with committed partners — airlines, training institutions, associations — to support initiatives promoting diversity in aviation. This includes awareness campaigns, scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and educational interventions on themes of equality, tolerance, and respect.
Zero tolerance for discrimination
Within our institution, any form of discrimination, harassment, or intimidation is strictly prohibited. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy and have implemented listening and reporting mechanisms, allowing students and staff to express themselves safely, particularly through our just culture approach.
Our instructors, educational teams, and administration are trained to detect and address discriminatory or exclusionary behaviors. We aim to ensure every student a safe, serene, and stimulating learning environment, where everyone can fully concentrate on their objectives without facing judgment or discrimination.
Training pilots, but also humane and responsible professionals
Being a pilot is not just about mastering an aircraft. It also involves knowing how to work in a team, communicate effectively, and demonstrate empathy and integrity, in a multicultural and often high-pressure environment. The human dimension is an integral part of our training.
This is why we educate our students on the values of inclusion, respect for differences, and social responsibility. We believe that technical excellence must go hand in hand with exemplary conduct, especially in a profession as emblematic as that of an airline pilot.
For a fairer,
more humane, more representative aviation
Our ambition is to train a new generation of pilots: competent, open-minded, respectful of human values, and proud to contribute to a fairer, more inclusive, and more sustainable aviation. We understand that this requires a strong commitment against all forms of discrimination and the implementation of concrete policies promoting equal opportunities.
At Hexagone, we don't just train pilots: we train ambassadors for a sector that aims to be open to all diversities and talents.
